Welcome back to Hammer the Backlog, the weekly mini painting accountability and productivity blog. It was an especially slow week of work here at Hammer the Backlog central, since I was on honeymoon in Korea most of the week. Although I am back home by the time you are reading this, no new models got painted, and in fact the backlog even managed to grow a little bit!
You will, therefore, excuse the final slightly shorter blog entry of the year before we return to normal service from next week.
SCORECARD
Would you look at that! Still no Instant Agency Tools! So another handwritten scorecard.

It’s looking broadly similar to last week, with zero models finished (I was on the other side of the world), but everything else on track, as expected.
MY PILES ARE GROWING
If you are still reading this blog, you are probably aware of Emiel aka Thanquols Lair on instagram.
https://www.instagram.com/thanquols.lair/
He is retro-warhammer’s good-aligned chaos goblin, and he is determined not to let me rest. In celebration of me getting my childhood dogs of War army painted, he sent me his “spare” version of Lorenzo.

Look at this little fella, he’s so precious. I love the paint job that his previous owner gave him, he looks like a schleich toy. When I strip him and repaint him, it’s going to be in the exact same scheme, in honour of his previous owner.

I have to admit, coming off of a 24 hour trip and seeing the skaven symbol on the package did frighten me a little bit. I honestly thought the rat-men had found me.

Not only that, he threw in a couple of metal 2nd edition chaos marines to finish off my Iron Warriors squad. He really is on a one man mission to make sure the backlog never gets truly hammered.
POST DAY
The lovely package from Emiel wasn’t the only thing waiting for me when I got home. My copy of the Dark Vengeance starter booklet from eBay has also arrived, getting me one step closer to getting the dark vengeance video made.

In great news, the starter mission from this box set is actually a solo play mission using only the chaos side, and it is played on a 24 by 24 board, not a full size one. I actually know a very good egg who has a board just like that who might be able to help me out in making the video!

The other arrival was this cooling looking webcam from BenQ. They sent this to me to review and use on the youtube channel. I’ll be breaking this bad bow out next week to make some short videos to demo my painting process! Very exciting.

Well, as I said, I am just off of a 24 hour flight with a massive amount of jetlag and no models painted, so I hope you will excuse the shorter blog this week.
Actually, who am I kidding, I know you will because you are the best eggs!
